Great trail shoe

This shoe has enough cushion for the long stuff, but still lets you feel the trail under you. Just bought a second pair for back up!!

Not quite "neutral"

I wanted to love this shoe, but I had a few complaints and will be returning. This is allegedly a neutral running shoe, however a 9mm drop is pretty substantial for a "neutral" shoe (IMO). I also found these shoes to run a little bit small (slightly less than a half size) and narrow. If you have a wider foot these will not work well at all. The forefoot is especially narrow, which is problematic for those who are used to running barefoot or have used other minimal shoes (not saying any names). I have been running barefoot for a few years now and found these shoes just wouldn't work for me. They are a little wider than the Fly, but still narrow. I also found a lot of movement in the heel, which caused a quick blister. I'm not saying they're a bad shoe, just not for me - or anyone with a wider forefoot. If you're looking for something really neutral, look elsewhere.

Not a long lasting shoe

I run 20 miles a week. Total on the shoe is about 250 miles. I like the light weight and the shoes were great for the first 100 miles. At this point, though, every rock is painfully felt through the sole. The tread on the soles show significant wear. Not a long lasting shoe.

I love these shoes

I've been running in my Rogue Racer's for the last year and have been thoroughly impressed with their performance. They are incredibly light, and have withstood a ton of punishment. I run in these shoes at least 4 times a week and they continue to exceed my expectations.

8K on asphalt

I just completed the 8K Shamrock run in Portland, OR while wearing my new Montrail Rogue Racers, the green ones I might add, which was a perfect color for this St.Patrick's day race. Though this shoe may be better suited for a dirt path, I thought I'd try them out in todays race, which was on the rainy asphalt streets of Portland. This ultra light, snug fitting shoe worked out great, with my legs and feet feeling fine. I am not an avid runner, and was worried I might run into knee or ankle pain running in such a minimal trail shoe that hasn't been broken in, but it felt great. I might not of had the fastest time, but I'm content with running 8K just under 40 minutes. The highly breathable mesh did allow plenty of rain in, but that was to be expected.
