A great shoe for training and racing on trails
Out of the box, the Rogue Fly worked for me. It has a fairly narrow fit, which works quite well for my foot. (other shoes that have worked for me are: the New Balance 1400, Brooks Green Silence and New Balance 101. Shoes that do not work for me are: The Brooks Pure Grit, Brooks Cascadia and New Balance 1010.) I bought this shoe specifically because I was having trouble finding a dedicated trail shoe that was fairly flexible, light (I define <8oz) and had a narrow fit. The Rogue Fly fits the bill and has been great for my last 400 miles of trail running, including many training runs of 20-40miles in length. The traction works well on the non-to-semi technical trails of my area, the upper wraps the foot well and the sole provides enough cushioning. No rubbing, blisters or fallen toenails. They are not comfortable during long runs on pavement, though (not enough cushion for me). Great shoe!
