Great long distance trail shoe

I used this shoe for summer/fall hiking in the Alps and Himalayas. The terrain was tough on these shoes but I would say they fared pretty darn well given the 40 days of strenuous hiking I put on them. A very breathable, lightweight(but sturdy), comfortable shoe with excellent traction over every over everything I've encountered in the mountains. The roomy toe-box to accommodate foot swell is perfect. I was hoping to put more miles on them but happy enough to buy another pair. I've been wearing Montrail since the Hardrock and have had some durability issues with the previous two purchases, so I am hopeful Montrail keeps this up - the AT PLUS was a winner. P.S. I can't recommend the Enduro-sole footbed enough for any shoe you are putting long miles on. They kept my feet from getting bruised or fatigued over some very tough miles.

I use this for:
backpacking, off trail exploring

Wow! Best lightweight hiker period.

Just got back from a backpacking trip to South San Juan Wilderness area in Colorado. These shoes well exceeded my expectations. I spent at least 12 hours a day in these shoes with a 30 pound pack through every condition imaginable. Soggy alpine meadows, rough alpine forest trails, rocky boulder fields above treeline, jumping from rock to rock across mountain streams and these kept my feet dry and comfortable the entire time. No hotspots, no blisters, and no discomfort. Grip on the sole was also very good even in wet conditions scrambling across streams. I can't say enough good about these shoes. Well thought out design and execution gives you just the features you need and nothing else. This was my first pair of Montrails, and I must say that I'm definitely a fan now. Great shoe!
