Excellent shoes but the upper needs to improve

Bought then on feb/2012, just love them but now - 3 months later and 130 miles after - the upper has teardown in both shoes because debris and branches tore them down, they should have lasted more, if you change the materials used in the upper I would consider them in the future, right now I'll be looking for other brands, but besides that, they would have being my goto trail running shoes for a long time

Nice shoe, but needs improvements

I liked the light weight and low profile of this shoe. I have been running in minimus and five fingers, but was needing a little bit more for longer runs. Negatives: I do not like that the tongue is not attached. For trail running especially, it is nice to have the attached tongue. I got more rocks in these shoes than any other shoe. I bought them a month or so before my 50K race. I have 3 holes in both shoes in less than a month and this was before race day. I have a pair of Brooks trail shoes with no holes and many more miles. So I was disappointed in the quality. I have a lot of running friends that run in Montrails and they love them. I do like the shoe for comfort, weight and medium profile, but it needs some improvements.

Favorite Shoe of All Time

I am a very picky shoe girl. I have flat feet so comfort is key for running, hiking, or just walking to the store. I was a die hard Asics fan, working on my 5th pair. But when I was talked into trying these shoes on, I was sold. I have never worn a more comfortable shoe. I am now a believer and will continue to purchase Montrail for every shoe need (besides my stilettos of course).
